“Ow … You Poked My Heart”: What Couples Can Learn From This Video

If you haven’t seen this totally cute video about a “heated” debate between a little boy and a little girl on whether it is sprinkling or raining, then you just have to watch it.

This is a classic example of a “he said vs. she said” argument between sexes except that at the end of the video, it’s the little boy whose heart was “broken”. This video gets the perfect 10 for cuteness.

Whether it is raining or sprinkling is really a matter of perspective, right? The bottom-line is that the heavens have opened up and that water is coming down from the clouds. The degree of perceived precipitation can be relative, and that’s when it can be a matter of perspective. The hilarious thing is that the little kids were arguing about what their mom’s thought about the weather.

The key here is to find the right balance so that it works out for both parties.

It’s really funny how couples sometimes argue heatedly over something even though they pretty much agree on the same core point. It sounds like he picked it up from an adult argument, probably from his parents when they are having some sort of spat. The little boy then follows up with “I’m not gonna see you anymore.”. What? The cutest and most amazing part of the video is when the little girl becomes physical again. The little girl had moments earlier, tried to poke the boy in the eye. That initial poke was not nice and it surely shows the frustration that she was having in making her point come across. The little boy had a relatively muted reaction to the eye poke, even though you would think that this would hurt.

The second time the little girl poked the little boy on his chest, he said: “Ow, you poked my heart.” He then proceeded to show how much it hurt him not just physically but more like he was very heart-broken. The little boy then turned around and kept saying “You poked my heart” as if he was really heart-broken, and was on the verge of tears. If that does not melt your heart, I really don’t know what will!

So what can couples learn from this mega-cuteness of a video? It just goes to show that someone is really bound to get hurt in an argument, regardless of their gender. Being “broken-hearted” goes both ways, whether you are male or female. No one really wins in an argument.

However, we all know that arguments are always inevitable, whether they may be about big issues or simple little issues. What is important is that in the end, couples should recognize that arguing is part of the whole process of getting to know more about your partner. It is really very important that after any argument, make sure to find a way to cool things down and take the initiative to always patch up things and apologize if you have to.
